Moqaren vs alternatives: a detailed comparison of competitor price monitoring tools

Looking for a tool to watch your competitors' prices, and want to know where Moqaren stands against the rest? We gathered the tools a merchant in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf is likely to come across — from Salla and Zid apps to global tools and enterprise platforms — and compared what matters to a buyer: where each one works, where its prices start, what the first plan includes, and when it fits.

What we say about each tool is what its official pages and app-store listings showed on 24 September 2026, with a link to the source for each. Moqaren's own prices and limits on this page are read straight from the pricing page, so they are always current.

The short version

  • On the Salla app store, among 805 apps, the only competitor price monitoring tools we found were Moqaren and Sampo. On Zid there are four: Moqaren, Sampo, PrizeSkout and Updator. The global tools are on neither.
  • Moqaren's plans today: SAR 49 a month, and a free plan. The cheapest plan we saw from Sampo was SAR 1,099 a month, from PrizeSkout SAR 412.85, and from the global tools about SAR 184.
  • Moqaren is Arabic at its core: the interface, matching that understands written Arabic and its misspellings, the reports, and the Gulf's retail seasons.

What sets Moqaren apart

Built for merchants in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf

  • Arabic from the first line: the interface, reports and alerts — with an English interface for those who want it.
  • Connects your Salla, Zid or Shopify store, or start from your product file with no connection at all.
  • The Gulf's retail seasons in price tracking and recommendations: Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, National Day, Founding Day and White Friday — so you see how your competitors moved in each season, not only on ordinary days.
  • Your currency: a competitor selling in another currency has its prices converted to yours at an exchange rate that updates itself.

Matching that understands Arabic

"أيفون ١٥ برو ٢٥٦ تيتانيوم" in your store may be "Apple iPhone 15 Pro 256GB" in your competitor's. So matching goes through three layers:

  1. Barcode first: when there is one, it settles the question.
  2. An Arabic search that tolerates spelling mistakes and normalises diacritics (تَفّاح = تفاح).
  3. An AI review that scores each pair: confirmed matches are kept, likely ones are shown to you to decide.

And whatever you reject with "this is not my product" is left out of everything: the market band, the recommendations, the pricing rules.

Prices as the shopper sees them

  • The price the shopper actually pays: the sale price when there is one, not the list price.
  • The currency read from the mark printed beside the price itself: ر.س, the new riyal sign, د.إ, د.ك and the global symbols. Riyals are never assumed when there is no mark.
  • A store in several languages and markets? Paste the link of the language and market you want, and only that version is indexed, in its currency.

From monitoring to decisions

  • A market band for every product: lowest, average and highest price, the number of sellers, and where you sit.
  • Recommendations with a suggested price that explain "why now", plus two ready lists: a competitor 20% or more cheaper than you, and products out of stock at every competitor.
  • Automatic pricing with three strategies: below the cheapest competitor, matching it, or matching the market average. And guarded:
    • The default is a suggestion you review.
    • The price never goes below your floor.
    • Daily changes are capped.
    • Only confirmed matches are priced against.
  • Alerts when a competitor's price drops or rises, a discount starts, or a product sells out or comes back — in the bell and by email. They take your own stock into account, so a competitor selling out is not called an "opportunity" when you are out too.

Deeper competitor analysis

  • Competitor study: how fast each one reacts to your price changes, their busiest days, how deep they discount.
  • Assortment gap: what your competitors sell that you don't, ranked by how many of them sell it.
  • Launch radar: a weekly summary of the new products each competitor added.
  • Price forecasting and a BI dashboard, with exports that open in Excel.
  • Minimum advertised price (MAP) monitoring for brands and distributors.

For teams and developers

  • A team account with roles and invitations.
  • Ask in Arabic from inside Claude or ChatGPT through the MCP server — "which of my products are priced above the market?" — and get the answer from your own data.
  • A public API and outgoing webhooks to connect Moqaren to your systems.

Some of these features depend on the plan; the details are on the pricing page.

How to choose a price monitoring tool

Before you pay for any tool — Moqaren or another — ask yourself:

  1. Does it work with your store? A tool in your platform's own app store is easier to connect and to cancel.
  2. Does it understand your products in Arabic? Try it on ten of your products and count the correct matches.
  3. How many products and competitors do you really need? Start with your key products and key competitors, then work out the cost per product.
  4. How often do you need updates? Daily is enough for most stores; you may want faster in peak seasons.
  5. Is automatic pricing guarded? Look for a price floor, a daily change cap, and a review step before anything is applied.
  6. Does it work in your currency? If your competitors are in more than one country, correct conversion is a condition of any comparison.
  7. Can you start without committing? A free plan or a trial — and no card, if possible.

When Moqaren fits

  • You sell on Salla, Zid or Shopify, and want a tool that is Arabic from the first line.
  • You want matching that understands Arabic, and a suggested decision rather than just a price table.
  • Your store is small or mid-sized, and you want to start free and then at a price that suits it.
  • Your competitors sell in different currencies or languages, and you want to see their prices in yours.

When another tool may fit

  • Unlimited competitors and several updates a day: Prisync and PriceMole offer that in their plans.
  • Thousands of products with automatic pricing rules and daily updates: Sampo, from SAR 1,099 a month.
  • Automated pricing for a large retailer with a pricing team: Omnia Retail, Competera and Intelligence Node sell to that segment directly.
  • You resell Amazon and Noon products, and manual matching with one link per product is enough: that is how Updator works.
  • Working out true profit and reconciling delivery-platform payouts: that is PrizeSkout's main focus.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Moqaren cost?

Its plans today: SAR 49 a month, and a free plan. Each plan's limits are on the pricing page.

Do I need to connect my store to start?

No. Upload your product file and add your competitors, and recommendations, the market band and alerts work. Connect your store whenever you like.

Will Moqaren change my store's prices without my knowing?

No. A new rule suggests and does not apply, unless you choose automatic pricing for a connected store. Even then, no price goes below your floor or past the daily change cap.

My competitor sells in dollars, or in several languages — does Moqaren understand it?

Yes. The currency is read from the mark beside the price and converted to yours. If the store runs several languages and markets, paste the link of the one you want.

Can I see where my prices stand before I subscribe?

Yes. The free audit reads up to 20 products from your store, compares them with the market we track, and emails you the report.
